I believe a CEO's remuneration should be tightly linked to performance. I'd suggest the plumber you speak of is a sole trader, so I assume he is looking after the 'shareholder'?
In the scheme of things, $240k out of $320k revenue is not chicken feed! As to awarding oneself a 60% pay rise in the current inflationary climate, and in the face of yet another dilutionary CR that he himself refuses to participate in, all whilst the SP hits all time lows.
Now that is quite gripping..
For comparison's sake another OTT VoIP competitor FRX's CEO this year awarded himself a small pay reduction from $155k to $153k. Probably because he felt it appropriate given that although he had achieved steady progress in all areas of the business he should show some restraint whilst the SP was under pressure and cash was tight.
