The goal is to produce Fyre Lake not to own mines, the mine is a conduit to achieving the goal.
to achieve this goal MNQ had a couple of options,
A) execute an APA to acquire the mine in the event the restructuring plan from Yukon didn't eventuate.
B) enter into an agreement with Yukon (who have indicated they wont be using the mine for anything) to process the ore from Fyre Lake through the mine facility.
Option B has already been thought of by management and is discussed by the MD of MNQ in the last paragraph of yesterday announcement on page 3 and cont to page 4.
advantages I see from option B is a win win all round, Yukon gets cash flow they wouldn't otherwise get from a rental agreement on the mine, MNQ gets to achieve their goal at considerable less outlay of initial capital (without paying for the mine facility and the payouts to creditors) and the locals get employment in the area.
Option A and B were always going to be wins for MNQ either way of the vote.
