Because I am willing to back high risk companies with potential at the right price. I have a very high risk tolerance and will back some total disaster stories - take a look at RAN as an example of the sort of company I will back at the right price. RAN must be the worst disaster on the ASX in 2017 and still more likely than not to end in tears, but worth a punt at the current SP and cash position.
What I am not willing to do is back a company who's core business is doomed, where management is clueless and can't even go three weeks without issuing an earnings downgrade, that has a massive competitor that is outspending and out promoting them, and one where the registry is filled with known bottom feeders that have a history of asset stripping. There just are not any positive outcomes from this situation
I have been keeping an eye on YOW in case it was the sort of company I might buy into, but things just keep getting worse and worse. I really hope for everyone's sake I am wrong, but I have avoided losing a lot of money by sitting this one out.
