Dont worry about hammers, he is getting bitter, not that i blame him, i am slightly miffed myself.
Must admit its all a bit bemusing.
I would like to know who bought the 8m shares shortfall. I have a hunch, just a hunch, this was maybe to give the buyer some shares to sell to drive down the price without short selling. 8m at 48c is $3.84M. If buyer was prepared to sell these down to 20c, thats a $2.24M loss. But if that means Rio gets $120M less for their shares..or someone gets rios shares for $120M cheaper...it would be worthwhile..
just a thought
