I think the only thing that would change my sentiment on the overcompensation of the executives and the future of this company would be very large purchases of shares by Young.
If he believes in this company then he should commit a significant portion of the extra $600,000 he made in a year - where they still lost 14 million dollars - to support his desire to build the company.
Otherwise it will look more like a some overconfident and inept corporate parasite extracting undue reward while all the faithful investors and hardworking employees around their CEO question what his worth really is.
And Dykes isn't far behind either with his increase to $800,000 from $400,000 in 2010.
But that was only a 100% pay rise...
