    Stefanos Tsitsipas def Roger Federer 6-7, 7-6, 7-5, 7-6

Roger Federer has been knocked out of this year's Australian Open, beaten by a little known Greek playing a game very well known to the defending champion - it was his game.

Emerging star Stefanos Tsitsipas, the 14th seed, upstaged Federer, beating the two time defending champion and six time winner in four sets in one of the biggest upsets at the Open, playing the same serve volley game as the 20 time grand slam champion.

With the match a set apiece from consecutive tie breaks, Tsitsipas winkled open the slightest of opportunities on Federer’s serve.

And in that 37th game it was Tsitsipas who claimed the break and with it a two sets to one lead over the champion. It was the only service break of the night - that is how close this superb match was.
