Hi Osi and all,
I think it’s very wrong of the Universities to take money from kids for degree courses that do little more than prepare them for menial work.
When what we really need in Australia are Engineers, Scientist’s, and people with the knowledge to show us how to grow cabbages in outback red dust with little water!
A few decent trained economists might also help, ones that understand the benefits of a tangible goods manufacturing industry, an equitable taxation system and the folly of borrowing money to live beyond ones means.
I don’t have a degree I left school at 15 and completed an apprenticeship (Fitter &Turner) and I worked out the above all by myself, after all it’s not rocket science is it!
Problem is we are now entrenched in the current system and the over paid clowns in Canberra think the borrowing and living beyond ones means can last forever! Add to this mix a generally apathetic population addicted to TV for halfwit specialist viewing and one can see the future.
I suppose the transition from a third World life style to a first World life style can take many generations. That we appear to have some how managed to speed up the process of returning Australia back to third World conditions looks more like regress in my humble opinion.
Cheers and very best regards: Andy
