    Savadamoney,

Don’t disagree with any of the reasons why you say you are holding the stock. Astoria has listed a whole bunch more in the past which I equally agree with. However, my suggestion is that you both forget trying to analyse the motive of a poster. Maybe Tails has no social life, maybe a partner, friend, brother, sister, mother works for CDR. Maybe Tails is shorting CDR, maybe Tails is a competitor, disgruntled supplier or past staff member. Maybe Tails is a genuine person just trying to help other investors out in an area he has knowledge. Who cares? Its a game you cant win.

I would suggest your effort is better directed at the substance of what is being said. In footy terms its called playing the ball, not the man. Is it a risk CDR will lose the G8 contract? What are the financial implications? Probe the level of knowledge of the poster. If it is a legitimate risk then acknowledge it. It adds to your credibility as a poster.

For interest consider doing a search on “w_buffet” who posted negatively on ABC learning when it was $7-$8. Poor guy was absolutely taken apart for it, but persisted. It traded down below $1 based partly on the rationale buffet provided. What was buffets motive? Who cares. There was substance to his posts. That’s all that mattered. Buffet is on my favourites list and will always deserve some consideration from my end.

    Astoria,

This discussion is not about you being right or wrong. Everyone on Hotcopper has incurred paper losses on a stock at some point in time. Averaging down is a legitimate strategy because no one has perfect foresight. My point is that investors need to listen to the other side of the story, because maybe there is some substance to the claims. If the claim is frivolous the market will judge it as so. If the claim has substance, ignoring it or telling it to go away (on motive grounds) wont make the share price perform any better.

Good luck to both of you. I hope next time Tails makes a post that you tear the substance of it apart or counter it with new unknown gems of positive information. When the risk/reward ratio alters I may join you and re-purchase.
