I neither profit from other people's misery, nor did I lose out on this stock or any others in the IO industry.
It was clear as a bell to those of us in the industry what was going to happen.
MMX was the first that I warned about. It's boom then collapse was spectacular.
Others have followed.
If you can time it perfectly then you can make serious money, but I'm yet to find any trading system or rationale that can beat the market over the long run, and through a commodity cycle.
And from where I sit and where I work, IO isnt making any sort of spectacular comeback in price anytime soon.
Supply volumes in the Pilbara are only going to increase in the next couple of years, not decrease. The price squeeze is over. The supply chain is motion, and this supply chain cannot be turned on and off very easily. It's fairly static and predictable.
