I am intrigued by your 'time risk' concept. Do you mean time risk as in the risk of allocating money to this trade for a time waiting for the move to happen when you could have your money in another trade?
When you enter a trade do you actually quantify an acceptable time risk?
"Once you find your own style, which suits your own personality, you will know you are really on your way."
This is very true. It also explains why it is so difficult to copy and emulate what another trader does.
I've been listening the chat with traders podcast a fair bit. Listening to the way other traders talk about their trading has been really helpful in identifying the things which are useful and conducive to successful trading.
I think your most successful trading is inevitably a function of your natural habits/tendencies and psychology. You need to trade in a way that gives you confidence enough to manage your risk and drawdowns effectively, without it altering your mind state and causing you to make poor decisions, or completely lose your mind. I can't really state this in a way which emphasises it properly.. but when it works you get 'in the zone' or 'in the flow'.
Also, that's not to say that I think your habits and the way you think about trading can't be altered, but doing this is more arduous and a growing (can be painful) process to go through.
Self-analysis and reflection seems to be a common denominator amongst successful traders.
For me, one of the sticking points I have to remind myself is this.
"Don't trade to prove yourself correct, trade to make money"
Anyway, that turned into a bit of a ramble.. but it is something I've been looking at a fair bit this last month or two so the ideas are still swirling.
Learning Wyckoff/VSA has definitely provided me a solid framework with which to begin understanding and further investigating the market so my sincerest thanks for your kind volunteer work @Jako64
