The Weekend charting thread started out very informal with lots and lots of contributors who could easily cover all the stocks that members asked to be assessed. We always wanted to make sure that all of the requests were covered each weekend. DG and Robbbbbbb also made YouTube video's to cover a large number in one go (you can still go back and see them...they are quite good). Some weekends many requested charts were often covered multiple times by different members using different T/A styles....it was quite interesting.
Sadly though, most of the requests were for illiquid micro caps stocks, and they are usually the least consistent to analyse and chart, but there were also some mid and large caps stocks, currencies, commodities and Index's requested.......or sometimes those 'other' charts were analysed just for the fun of it.....even if they were not 'officially' requested.
The best thing was that it was a friendly thread, with very little bickering or arguing. There was usually a message at the start each weekend saying to "leave your ego at the door" when opening this thread. And what resulted was many members helping each other learn. More experienced charters helping the newbies, and explaining how and why they interpreted the charts as they did, and offering well balanced comments on the newbies charts, without being unfair.
Over time however, (a years or more I guess...) the number of chartists who wanted to contribute each weekend started to reduce, and eventually the requests started to overwhelm the number of contributors still around, and not long after that it became a bit of a chore to get them all done (I remember on some Sunday evenings, just pumping out chart after chart (with DG) to get all the ones done that had not been covered yet......and it was starting to become hard work).
The writing was on the wall by then, and the regular thread slowly faded away.
I would be happy to contribute a little time each weekend looking at a few charts on a specific charting thread, and offering some advice where I can, but I would not want to drive it, or be responsible for it. I spend a lot of time across quite a few threads now, and don't have much more spare time available.
Tag me in if it gets started........it would be good to have it back.......
cheers
