Afternoon, well i made it........
I have been making my way through the entire thread in detail over the past 6-8 weeks and it has been one of the most educational, beneficial and rewarding "projects" I have embarked on as a trader. I feel like I have just finished a fast paced course at uni, (without all the bull$#!t and fees). @Jako64 many have said it before me, but i cant hold back, you are an absolute legend mate. Extremely humble, modest and experienced.
Along the way I had penned a ton of questions but as i scrolled through page after page (and made almost 100 pages of notes in word) most were answered through the exercises and explanations. I went through everything pretty deeply and having already had a decent grasp of the VSA concepts I didn't find it too difficult to cement in (Ive read MtM about 5 times, Trading in the Shadows a couple and now on to Trades about to Happen. Jako when's your book out? Kinda serious too). I learned so much its unbelievable and I didn't have to pay someone thousands of dollars with the promise making $5431,26 every week just by putting in 30 minutes a month haha.
So now that i understand the methods and concepts and it gels well in my mind I now need to work on improving both my deciphering and also trading the method. Stuff that will come with more practice.
To be honest I struggle massively with execution and also not micromanaging once I'm in a trade. (I'm reading a few trader psychology books too) and this is the area I think i really need to work on. I had also developed some obsession with trying to pick the dead top and bottom of reversals (on the mid-big caps) despite knowing just how stupid it is. I can tell you all that my success rate was low and i was usually stopped out within 1-2 bars.
As I went through the thread I tried to write myself little notes and rules that i could later mold into a stricter trading plan so I could try and overcome my issues above with more binary decisions. (As a quick example: A HV shakeout requires conformation and should usually be monitored for a LT test of that area sometime in the future prior to entry.) Following these rules is the harder part i find. Having rules like this also helps with screening for potential watch list candidates as I like to try and code in some basic scanners.
Anyway just wanted to introduce myself, thank you all for your contributions and hopefully continue learning together by posting some charts and setups. If anyone has any advice on the issue i struggle with im all ears too.
Cheers
