I can only think of what I remember from Gary Fullett's videos on VSA and Martin Pring's TA about inertia and an existing trend continuing its status quo. So a stock is in a downtrend, as was the case with MYX starting 7 months ago, it paused, and entered a trading range. Now it should follow through downward with the existing momentum behind it.
Fullet would say SOW (volume and wide spread down) not necessary (MYX in this case) to continue on down and out of the trading range. On the other hand, to turn the trend around, a major SOS is required to breakout to the upside.
