G'day Beany
My trading I think is very similar to yours, ie by remote control - sometimes I can catch the action during the day, but usually I've just got to identify purchase points pre-market (actually generally after market the night before) and my order will sit in the queue and if it gets hit all good. I've then got a predetermined sell level, but depending on my reading of the days action I will adjust up if the stock is running. For trading it's technical then fundamental (but the fundamental is very superficial, is it breathing? does it have a pulse? kinda thing).
My long term investments though are the opposite, if I like the story and preferably it's unsexy & unloved I'll look at 10 years of financials then use TA to get an entry although the exact entry isn't super critical.
