Seems like you really benefited from that experience. Even in the short time I have been with my coach I have already gained a number of insights I don't think I would otherwise have gotten left to my own devices. When you think about it, getting a coach makes perfect sense and in many other pursuits whether it be golf, tennis, triathlon (my sport), running or anything else, it is normal to seek out a coach, and also usually a club. That provides direct exposure to others experienced in the filed we're pursuing in which we can see directly how they do things, do what they do, ask them direct questions. Yet for some reason traders by and large don't follow that path. Yes there are forums like HC which fill a part of that function, but the internet barrier and the anonymity imo prevent some of those direct personal relationship learning benefits from coming through. Imo spending money on a coach is really an investment in personal development, one which it is actually easy to quantify in terms of return - because I know what my performance track record has been over the last 10 years, and I will be able to compare what it will be like once I've gained the knowledge the coach is passing on. And I've come to realise I'd rather invest money in a coach and learn the smart way, and feel positive about the process (and hopefully the outcome), rather than learning by losing that money on trades I shouldn't have made and may never really learn from (trying to reinvent the wheel, in isolation)...

Anyway, we each follow our own path, but I'd encourage others to think about that option.

    Cheers, Sharks.
