Interesting you mention these US firms. Did you know 340,000 people have been laid off in energy sector and esp shale oil sector since crude price collapsed 2 yrs ago? Plus Bllomberg and Bartholomeus (Business Spectator) recently wrote that ONE TRILLION dollars of work (mainly large offshore platforms, refineries but also exploration has been canned until POO improves substantially!! We tend to throw the word Billion around too loosely but TRILLION is another league altogether. Unprecedented in the full sense of the word.
