Thought that I'd jump in and give my 2c worth of Everyday Rewards...

I'm a small-time shareholder at the moment and not sure whether to hold for a few years or just sell out and get back in after the next GFC type drama, the eternal optimist/pessimist battle wages!

I have close contact with some stores through my employment and I will reaffirm to previous postings that staff seem to be very unhappy. Management stress, overworked staff always talking about quitting to find a job in which they will be appreciated and general internal conflict and bad vibe being normal.
The two local major shopping centres with a Coles and Woolworths are very clearly delineated when it comes to cheery, helpful or miserable, unapproachable staff.

As a customer, the very simple things like finding all of the weekly specials sold out or not on the shelf. The stores I have visited commonly have out of date refrigerated items on display. Only one checkout operator and the self service being the only way to pay which becomes even worse when the self service checkouts are blocked by people with fully loaded trolleys unsure of how to operate the machine or those that do gaming it and more or less stealing, 'sorry, I must've accidentally pushed the onion button when I was buying avocados'.

So, at the ground level, unhappy staff and unhappy customers makes me very ambivalent on continuing investment in this biz because you'd think these two elements are the foundations on which you succeed?
