I sold out of WOW and now shop ALDI for most groceries. It has been interesting watching the ALDI story unfold through observation at my local store.
I noticed people started shopping there for bread, milk and eggs. Then they noticed cheese and dairy were comparable products but way underpriced cf Coles/Woolies. The number of shoppers grew quickly at my local store. I wished I could buy ALDI shares. Privately held unfortunately. ALDI and Coles are down to the 1c tick in the banana price war. Who knew groceries was such a killer business.
So the latest changing trend I have observed at local ALDI is in the car park. Now I am starting to see plenty of Mercs, BMWs alongside the SUV's.
