Hi CS, we too have a wood stove with an electric blower. The house has ducted gas heating but when the woodstove is going we turn off the ducted gas and the whole house remains warm... it's that efficient. In the space currently occupied by the woodstove was an oil heater. We removed it when we moved into our house and had a flexible stainless steel flue installed up the chimney and connecting to the woodstove. Ours is double sided so that the stove supplies both the lounge and dining rooms. best thing we ever did putting it in as I love to sit by it on a cold Canberra night with a book or DVD and glass of single malt.... Bliss.....
