That's interesting the brush feels it will last forever. I had assumed they would get a caning and lose their effectiveness quite quickly but the crap in the flue does come away easily.
The extra flue heat is a bonus I hadn't thought about.
This winter has felt like a real winter for once. It's good to have such a distinct change in the seasons and having a real fire, the work that goes with it might not appeal to some but clearly some of us enjoy it.
