Had a wood heater at my previous home, can't remember the make or model. We had to buy the wood in, so expensive to run. Had a very large open plan home. Good insulation, double brick, but it didn't heat the master bedroom or formal areas. It was a good solid heat with body to it ( if that makes sense). My current home, again double brick, good insulation, modern, high ceilings and open plan, but reverse cycle air conditioner. No work involved, just press the button , select the zones you want heated, and off she goes, BUT there is no substance to the heat. Switch it off, 30 mins later feel cold again. I can certainly understand why someone wants a wood burner.
