TAB takes biggest ever racing bet on Winx
Winx did more than set a new world record for Group One wins (23) when she captured today’s Chipping Norton Stakes – she also set a new benchmark at TAB.
The champion mare now holds the honour of being the subject of TAB’s biggest ever bet on a horse race after one customer plonked down a whopping $280,000 @ $1.08 just prior to the jump. This bet is in addition to the $239,000 @ $1.09 placed earlier in the day but that investment was from Winx’s biggest fan, who has been ‘letting it ride’ on the daughter of Street Cry for two years.
Prior to the $280,000 bet, Winx and Black Caviar had shared the mantle for TAB’s biggest ever bet of $250,000 which Winx attracted in the Apollo Stakes and Black Caviar had riding on her @ $1.14 in the T.J Smith Stakes at her final start.
