The YPG is a separate organisation from the PKK. Neither the US nor Australia would be training a designated terrorist organisation. No doubt Erdogan puts them in one basket precisely because he is looking for an excuse to continue steamrolling over northern Syria. I read recently the Iraqis' are getting fed up with him operating with impunity in northern Iraq too.
