my previous post probably gave the impression i thought gas was going to be completely supplanted which is not the case.

what i meant was that as renewables continue to reduce in cost and become more competitive, it will start to dent the broader demand for oil and gas slowly but surely. how quickly the market dynamics change will depend on govt policy e.g. carbon taxes and incentives.

but i agree gas will remain a cornerstone commodity globally for a long time, I'm just thinking that as an investor once STO has completed their turnaround story and gas demand peaks, that may be the time to sell. lots of variables that we can't predict now for 2-3 years time anyway, just my broad brush stroke thoughts about the medium term for STO.
