AWE is easier to bid for and swallow, its market cap is 500mil vs STO at 10B. AWE's shark has a 3B market cap. Unfortunately Santos would need a very large shark to take a bite.
If Santos continued to pay its debt down, it would be more suited to be the shark unless it did share schemes.
