Upgrade works have commenced this week on the Nagambie-Locksley Road and the intersection at Nagambie-Locksley and McDonalds Roads.
The works include the construction of an additional left turning lane at the intersection and the pavement rehabilitation of approximately 1.6km of the Nagambie-Locksley Road east of the intersection.
Nagambie-Locksley Road provides a crucial link between the townships of Nagambie, Locksley, Longwood and Euroa, and to the surrounding farming and agricultural land uses.
The works will enable larger vehicles to turn in a separate designated lane and utilise a firm section of road without damaging goods and reduce the likelihood of rear and head on collisions with turning traffic.
The project is funded through a $500,000 grant from the Victorian Government’s Local Roads to Market Program and a Strathbogie Shire Council contribution of $573,275.
