I understand what you're saying but it depends on each individual stock.
I do however think you need to look at current yield based on the current stock price as opposed to the current yield based on your initial buy in price as that's probably irrelevant.
If you can get the same yield on a different stock that is likely to appreciate in value quicker then that would be where the money should go.
