Most of the ex holders over the years have either just stopped posting or without much fuss said 'Gee, I lost money, what a shame' and then left. The ones who have remained bitter are the ones who have kept holding, and the bitterness tends to fade when they finally accept the situation, which has been the point at which they sell, and then they've seemed to be at peace with everything. If they're not at peace with it, they remain stubborn holders. After following AEB for about 7 years now and actively following the AEB threads here, I can think of almost no bitter ex holders who have continued to grumpily post after selling. Sometimes they make on or two parting ones, but that's about it.

All of the long term bears (including myself) have been people who for whatever reason started following AEB, came to the conclusion that it's a company with no realistic prospects and is doomed to eventual failure (for shareholders - the folks on the payroll are doing extremely well) and just take an interest in analysing stuff, watching the stock market, etc. I like to follow a range of companies from extremely bad to as good as I can find to stay well grounded with the spectrum of what exists and give myself a good perspective. I also like to observe the psychological issues investors have in order to avoid making those mistakes myself (this is actually a huge part of investing for most people). I've never considered investing in AEB but I have definitely learned a lot both from the company and the investors, in terms of what to avoid in companies and what to avoid doing myself.

People often relate to others by assuming that they are similar to themselves in order to understand them. I think this is why we see current holders assuming the bears are posting out of frustration and anger. AEB provides a good example of why you should do your research and avoid becoming frustrated and angry, and also, to acknowledge your mistakes as soon as you realise you've made them, rather than stubbornly refusing to do so and continuing to hurt, resulting in more frustration and anger.
