The usual reason for this is someone big is trying to get out and they can only get out on higher volume that positive announcements bring.
This weakness into positive news flow is one of the reasons I have held off buying in since these big sellers can often spit the dummy and dump allowing a patient investor to pick up some very cheap shares.
