To answer your question, finally most of the water storages in the cotton areas are already at, or getting to near capacity. Along with record world prices for cotton at the moment, there are huge acreages going in.
It is still very early in the growing season, crops are barely out of the ground, though it appears patience has run out on waiting till we see the whites of the eyes before buying. I was going to wait until I saw how the crop faired through the summer months before I bought back in, but with the current moves I got back in today, just in case. I will try to pick up more as the price moves along, hopefully it may even drop a little to get some lower, but it looks like they are not going to hang around for us too long.
If we get a half decent season, NAM will be able to crank up all the gins and start to make some real money, then watch the divi and price fly. My guess is if we have a decent season the sp will be around $1.10 this time next year.
