Today (Tuesday), ASB traded between 2.28 and 2.52. On most days, this wide range (around 10%) is typical. I'm not sure why it happens, but it looks like most buyers and sellers are trading at market, ie; buying or selling XXX dollars worth "right now", rather than setting a limit and sitting back to see which order slips back into the price.
It's almost like the price is irrelevant to the trade.
Anyone know why this happens, and who is behind it?
