thought this was a worthy read -unusual for fairfax and even the courier mail as they are normally quick to bash the insurers and say that poor so and so didnt get their money from the greedy insurers -normally for  a good reason der!  Company took eye off the ball with builders particularly - millions wasted ... not sure about car repairs, have heard conflicting reports.

As i have said though, Suncorp hasnt tried to make a virtue of the fact it was a lot better with clients than most other insurers in the floods - thats from what I have heard!

surely govt has got to  open door again on bank mergers etc as where else do majors go?  perhaps an overseas mob may make a bid although I would prefer it to be local  - still got to be a good trade name

might see some action if the government removes the discrimination between regionals and big banks
