The interesting trading period is often in the afternoon before the stock trades ex-dividend (i.e. tomorrow afternoon for WYL).
At this time short term shareholders make the decison to hold for the next trading day to receive the divvy and stock offered for sale dries up. At the same time last minute buyers for the divvy scramble to buy the stock.
You don't always see price rises at this time..but quite often.
I get the feeling Wattyl has price has been manipulated somewhat...when it fell to $2.76 and now as it is rising.
It's still a buy imo as the tax advantages of such a large divvy are substantial.
