Funding extreme violence (hitmen, snuff, dictators hiding funds, mercenaries), abuse of poor ( slavery, sex), tax evasion by rich in corrupt countries .... bitcoin started as the refuge of individual miscreants and has become a haven for even bigger ones.
How do you want to make your money, investing off the back of these industries? Our western governments play with us, yeah, but they don't do to us anything remotely resembling what those who use (as oppose to invest in) crypto-currencies do.
