The PMG is a mechanism which aims to eradicate bottlenecks and fast-track large, strategic projects.India Resources Ltd. said July 18 that India's Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion will sponsor the review of the Aravalli zinc-lead project in the state of Rajasthan before the government's Project Monitoring Group. The group will have to moderate a dispute between India Resources and Hindustan Zinc Ltd., which have overlapping prospecting license applications. If the PMG cancels Hindustan Zinc's claim, a total of 1,500 hectares would become available.
The DIPP restricts its interest to projects worth more than A$180 million, India Resources said.
India Resources expects the Aravalli project to have an exploration target in a range of 95 million tonnes and 135 million tonnes at between 2.2% zinc and 4.5% zinc, and between 0.7% lead and 1.8% lead.
