Value of contained nickel in Ntaka Hill resource (measured+indicated) is well over US$1B (a billion).
On that scale and bargain price someone would pay now for the resource, 16% doesn't really matter much. If some of inferred resources can get proven, it might even make it worthwhile to build a smelter/refinery and process ore somewhere in Tanzania and export the metal - that would help to minimize export royalties.
Barrick/Xstrata are trying to flog their Tanzanian nickel (Kabanga project) for some time, so it is unlikely they would be buyers - government expects them to start mining Kabanga or get out, they wouldn't look friendly at Barrick just hoarding more resources. I would expect some large global miner to come instead, but for IDA/Ntaka the question is more whether someone small would take it over first, and then flip it later to a major.
I'm surprised why there is no takeover offer for the whole of IDA yet, could be quick and easy at something like $0.20+?
