Interesting that the O Drive test setup has just been sold via auction to someone supposedly in California.  This was part of the test unit for the biowave converter installed at Port Fairy I believe.

I thought the units would be sold domestically as scrap or for re-purposing, however since the buyer appears to be in Berkeley, California, could that be the University for their wave energy program?

Additionally, does that mean that there is still hope for CCE hydraulic energy capture designs as opposed to the more recently shown 'belts and pulleys' system?  Surely Berkeley University would not ship 9 tons or so across the ocean on a whim (even if they got them it a bargain price)?

If Biowave have given up on this test unit, does that mean they have moved on to new designs?  Given up on the hydraulic design? Is CETO now the last Australian Wave energy converter standing?

    More intrigue
