I agree that OW did get it right, although the delay in releasing the announcement still has a question mark over it.
You know, now I have mentioned the SM, I wouldnt put it past them, to have been the ones who pushed the rumour in the first place, so they could do a short term sell off.
That's the sort a thing they do with the larger cap. stocks, although I dont think they would have expected a trading halt over it, but if I'm right, then they still got the expected response from the market.
On the question of selling down & buying more back at a lower price, if you were to do that you should have already sold at the top with the SM.
There is no knowing how far they can get the price down to, while they might try, it will depend how strong or weak the holders who are trapped at the higher price are.
There does not appear to be a lot of supply coming to them at the minute, and they know that there is not any point pushing the SP down (selling a few of there own shares in doing so) if there is not any reward in it for them.
So there is some chance we are already at the bottom, the SM are probably hoping for some world event now, like the Japanese Earthquake, so that market sentiment falls & they can push the SP lower, much easier, and continue to buy at a lower price.
Not that they need many more, they probably have a nice stack already I reckon.
cheers
