At this stage (nor likely into the future) I don't accept any conspiracy theories. I take that study by Harding as totally genuine (an internationally respected clinician in wound care!). Also, there were other studies/trials that demonstrated efficacy. Somehow, somewhere, we got something terribly wrong. To me Harding's patients fitted Margolis 2 (being average of 36 months uresponsive to standard care then .... bingo) rather than Margolis 1 which we rigorously used. Perhaps there was a flaw in the manufacture of our compound - that would explain a lot - it should certainly be meticulously analyzed right now, unless rigorous quality control was in place.
There must be a reason why this trial failed so dismally and at this stage I refuse to accept that the reason is TOTAL LACK OF EFFICACY.
