I am not pessimistic about Telstra, I would just like to see a new CEO. As a reasonably new shareholder (mid to late 18), I have probably less reason than most to feel aggravated with TLS performance but I am finding it incredibly difficult to identify a single thing Penn has done that I have thought "wow that was a good decision". Telstra is going to outperform in spite of Penn, not because of him.
