Specific Needs ?,um what are the specific needs for australian energy production?.
EIA in the US
Break up of energy production
-fossil fuels 62.9%
-nuclear 20%
-renewables 'including' hydro 17%
Our renewable energy policy is/has stopped any incentive to invest in base load power ie coal, nuclear modern production plants not our old coal plants ready for closure.
The result of destroying incentive and security for energy co's to invest in base load clean coal/nuclear energy production combined with general bad govt energy policy means the US business/households pay one third the energy prices of australia and why the US and globally 1600 coal power plants under construction, plus nuclear plants ie nuscale etc.
I prefer to listen to the chief scientist finkel who suggests australia's energy production should be a combination of above.
Example, bsl breaks even in australia, bsl has just invested $1b in its US steel plant .Dow chemicals will not invest in australia because of our energy prices, and incitec pivot continues its expansion in the US and its closure of australian plants.
Energy pricing is a major and a massively increasing cost for tls something like an 'extra' $100m pa" ie tls consumes 1% of energy production.ie 100 co's like tls and thats all production consumed.
Germany ? building coal plants, china and india can't build them fast enough etc, where do you think our increasing and forecast to keep increasing coal and uranium are being exported to?
Tls should get serious about energy production and teal up with finkel, super funds and salesman dick smith and become a leader in best practice base load energy production.
