Matthew Trivett, of Patersons Securities, says Australian explorers are rapidly trying to meet the soaring need.

"There's a company called Minbos which is developing two projects, one in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the other one in Angola," he said.

"They're right next to each other and it's the same ore body that travels over the border.

"They've got a couple of high grade areas very close to the surface and very close to the coast.

"So it's going to be quite simple to get the ore out of the ground, it's going to be quite simple to upgrade, or beneficiate the ore, and it's going to be easy to get it onto a ship and into the seaborne market.

"That makes it attractive from an investment point of view, as it will be low cost to set up and low cost to mine."
