Where are you thinking? Little island communities etc? Solar is getting pretty cheap... I doubt we'll need any significant investment in cables other than for offshore power stations.
Are we solving problems that don't exist? We don't have oil tankers to transfer energy, only to sell oil. I don't know I guess I'm still of the opinion @allens is having a laugh?
