With China GDP growth shrinking (as is the whole world's) I just cannot see AVL getting this project funded let alone into production. $800m is not exactly small change either.

Anybody who remembers 2008 will know that financing dried for small resource companies dried up. The financial sector is being hardest hit in this downturn with Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank being talked of being another Lehman Brothers.

The only way this will go ahead will be if there is another resources boom for Australia, but the way China is struggling we may be decades away from that.
