Two Qld health workers, including the nurse in the above post, made the news last week after making lengthy journeys from west Africa via multiple airlines, multiple airports and taking 4 days to reach Brisbane and Cairns respectively. The goal? To enter a "quarantine period" at home.

The media were lavish in their praise of the selfless work of these two women.

My reaction -then as it is now - was "what the hell are these women doing endangering the lives of hundreds, perhaps thousands of fellow airline commuters."

Surely they should both have served their quarantine in Africa.

Whilst it's not PC to criticise volunteer health workers, I find their lack of regard for others grossly negligent. There can be no possible way either were cleared of the virus before leaving, else quarantine at home would be unnecessary. How else can it be seen other than that both have recklessly endangered the lives of others?
