Osi, might the "breaking mechanism" be one of the vaccines or treatments which are now being rushed through? At least 4 different ones have shown some success and are now or have been tested on humans and production is being ramped up.
But in the short term perhaps the best hope is "survivor serum", from the blood of those who survive ebola infection. It has successfully been used to treat two of the US doctors infected, IIRC. It is relatively easy and cheap to produce, available in exactly the areas where it is needed and the number of survivors will grow at the same rate as the virus, albeit with a time lag.
