What is disturbing is than Bintan have said they aren't the ones responsible, well they are just as responsible as MV Solomon Trader, they were loading the bauxite onto the ship, all they cared about was loading the bauxite rather than taking OH&S issues and conditions into account, otherwise they wouldn't have been loading during a cyclone which has caused this terrible disaster.
You have to wonder how this company had it's mining license granted did they do an EIS ??? because if they did they haven't adhered to it, this raises questions into the legality of their license. The Minister for Environment at the time Bintan was issued it's mining license was Mr Tovosia, has there been foul play or under the table dealings here??? Axiom had to do a comprehensive EIS, where is the EIS for Bintan.
There are many questions regarding Mr Tovosia's conduct as Minister, I hope an investigation will be underway in the near future as there are way to many things he has been involved in that don't seem to be above board.
