Well storyr, I guess it's "patience young grasshopper" :) I am about to become a Viking as soon as I have some spare cash, and in a way I am pleased they haven't rocketed up. They only listed in May last year, so give it time. If there is no usable resource we won't have lost a lot. If there's tons, I'm glad no one really knows about it yet so that we can accumulate at lower prices before the potential run. According to their presentations they have money in the bank, and good prospects from their work to date.
If you look at their Board, the Chair is an engineer, the Director is a geologist, and the other two are from specialized pen pushing finance backgrounds, according to their site. They aren't marketing gurus. They are obviously not ready to bare their souls to the waiting world and announce anything until it's pretty much a certainty.
They are a speccie, but a kind of conservative speccie, a sleeper, flying under the radar so to speak. I'd rather a "quiet achiever" type that actually delivers than a high flyer that crashes soon after takeoff. I think VKA will only start moving when they have a really solid announcement to make, and they won't make it till it's in the bag. When they do, the Vikings who bought in early will be vindicated, as it will be something rock solid and not speculative. Hopefully they will employ a decent marketer to handle the presentation of the news :)
