I don't think gap is the most appropriated term for STU's 18/10 - 19/10 chart.
Gap The most common definition of a trading gap is the difference between yesterday's closing price and today's opening price for a security. If a stock closes at one price, and opens the next day at a higher price, we say it gapped up. If it closes at one price and opens the next day at a lower price, we say it gapped down. When the price of a stock moves very sharply up or down with no trading in between. Therefore, the chart shows a break between the prices (no line connecting). An example of a gap is a stock that goes from $50 to $55 with no trading occurring between these two prices.
