Came across this very well written and researched post on the EMC thread (disclosure : do not hold EMC so no cross-promotion intended). . . post #: 16825472 by Prowiz, which details some of China's major plans to improve it's water quality and environmental management - interesting because the post lists at the end, application details via Austrade for Ozzie companies to promote their technologies in support of those Chinese initiatives. (have a read if you can)
Plenty of opportunity IMO for SHE here, and did this very basic comparison just for context;
Coastline length (based on 50 km scale intervals) : Australia - 66530 km; China - 30017 km; USA - 133312 km; Canada (a whopping!) - 265523 km, India - 17181 km.
Population as at 2014 : Australia - 23.6M ; China - 1390M; USA - 322M; Canada - 35M, India - 1267M.
So, point is (as we know) China and India have vast populations and extremely high densities because their peoples are distributed pretty evenly over their respective land masses. Therefore coastline-based solutions for water supply and purification (as well as internal water management of same) become just as important.
We have seen recently the demand skyrocket for clean water, food, milk and supplement products to China in particular.
It is logical that smart technology demand will follow to meet those environmental challenges, because ultimately China and India will have to radically change their own food/water management systems - cant rely entirely on clean food resource countries like Australia alone. (Not with that many people)
Food for thought (excuse the pun ) and another avenue for SHE to possibly pursue. Have a great year. Cheers BC
